Ice Age: The Meltdown was the 2006 film sequel to the computer-animated 2002 film Ice Age.
Manny, the woolly mammoth, Sid the sloth ,Diego the saber-toothed tiger and the hapless prehistoric squirrel/rat known as Scrat are back. In the opening scene, the Ice Age critters are having a ball in their new world full of tar pits and geysers. However, global warming had caused a flood, and it is kept from destroying the valley only by the glaciers, which have formed a dam. Time is running out, and as soon as a vulture tells the animals a boat (actually a giant piece of a fallen tree) can lead them to safety, they set off in a rush to find it. This time around the Ice Age is over and is starting to melt, which will destroy their valley .Manny, Sid, and Diego quickly learn that the warming climate has one major drawback: A huge glacial dam holding off oceans of water is about to break, threatening the entire valley. The only chance of survival lies at the other end of the valley. So our three heroes, along with Ellie, Crash and Eddie, form the most unlikely family as they embark on a mission across an increasingly dangerous landscape towards their salvation. The idea of the animals avoiding the flood by getting to an ark is similar to the story in the Bible, Noah's Ark. A Great movie for kids with amazing animation.
