Tilo is an immigrant from India, and a shopkeeper, who is also the "Mistress of Spices." The spices which she gives to her customers help them to satisfy their needs and desires. Her life changes when she falls in love with Doug, an American man.
Tilo (Aishwarya Rai) runs a spice store and has a magical gift, of seeing the future. She is sent to California to open a shop and help people using the mysterious powers of the spices. In order for the magic to work, she must follow three rules, she must never leave the store; she must never touch another person and she must never use the spices for her own gain. But when a handsome American enters her store, Tilo's own desires are stirred for the first time. As she begins to defy the rules, the magic starts to misbehave and Tilo must decide between her love and her devotion to her traditions. Mistress of Spices is the latest film starring Aishwarya Rai. |
