Titanic is a one of a kind film starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo di caprio which has something to offer everyone, of particular mention are the spellbinding special effects.

A fictional romantic tale of a rich girl and a poor boy who meet on the ill fated ship "TITANIC" and the course their lives take after that. Deep sea explorer Brock Lovett researches the most famous ship wreck of all -The Titanic. He discovers a safe believed to have a precious diamond, instead finds a drawing of a beautiful woman wearing it.

When the drawing is shown on TV, a 100 year old woman named Rose Calvert recognizes the woman in the drawing as herself. Rose then tells her story of the Titanic. Engaged to a steel magnate she boards the ship with her mother. Also boarding are Jack Dawson and his friend who win the tickets in a poker game. When Rose attempts suicide by trying to jump off the stern Jack is the one who saves her. A bond is forged between the two but Rose's mother and her fiancée take go to extreme lengths to keep them apart. Meanwhile, Titanic collides with an iceberg, and due to a design flaw begins to sink - despite being proclaimed 'unsinkable' and from then on it is a fight to survive and the triumph of the human spirit in the end.

The movie won 11 Academy Awards on March 23, 1998 including best picture of 1997. As of 2006, Titanic has the highest box office take in movie history. Titanic holds the record for the most Academy Award wins, taking in 11 including the coveted Academy Award for Best Picture.
